Thank you for your interest in the +1 Global Fund—a nomination-based grantmaking program created by The Roddenberry Foundation (TRF) and its funding partners to accelerate progress towards solving pressing societal problems. There are multiple +1 Global Funds, each focused on a specific problem and/or region (such as the lack of access to nutritious and affordable food in Africa). Each Fund consists of multiple rounds, each approximately 10-12 weeks long, during which social change leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators nominate their peers for +1 Global Fund support. Each round proceeds as follows:
- Network Partners are secured for each round, to recommend Nominators.
- Nominators complete a simple form to nominate organizations—Nominees—who are targeting the specific +1 Global Fund’s problem and/or region of focus.
- Nominees are reviewed and vetted by TRF and its partners.
- Selected Nominees—Awardees—receive a grant and non-financial support.
- The Nominator whose Nominee is selected for funding will also receive an honorarium as an individual. This honorarium is for their services in referring a nominee to TRF and is not considered a grant award.
- Awardees and their (successful) Nominators from the current round are invited to make nominations for the next round.

1. Eligibility
TRF welcomes +1 Global Fund participation from organizations who have been identified by Nominators and who meet one of the following criteria:
- An organization recognized as a 501(c)3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service under the United States Internal Revenue Code (the “Code”).
- A university, college, or academic or research institution or center that is part of a university meeting the eligibility criteria if the university adopts the proposed approach as its own.
